Cabbage Stew

Are you ready for something different for dinner? Do you miss mom’s yummy cabbage stew? This delicious cabbage stew will warm your heart. Try it out, and tell us how you like it!

3 1/2 Cups water (1/2 cup reserved)
3 Cups Cabbage
1 Cup diced lean ham
1 Can green beans
1/2 Cup radish
1/2 Cup celery
1/2 Cup Onion
1 Can Green Beans
1 Can Cream of Celery Soup
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
Ground Pepper to taste


Shread cabbage, and cut ham into cubes. Slice radishes, celery, and onions. In large Saucepan pour in water and onions. Bring to a boil. Mix in cabbage and radish. Cook over medium heat for approximately 10 minutes. Mix in remaining ingredients except soup. Cook another 10-15 minutes. Add Cream of Celery Soup to reserved 1/2 cup of water to thin, then add to other ingredients and heat an additonal 5-10 minutes. Add pepper to taste.

8-9 carbs per serving. Serves 6

    The cabbage stew sounds delicious but do you need two cans of beans or was that a typo. Interested to know so I can repeat the recipe without error.
